What do you do when you don’t have a very good sponsor?
Do you quit your new business?
Do you re-join under someone else?
What the heck do you do?
Well in this post I will discuss,
3 Ways To Deal With A Bad Sponsor or Upline Leader
I am always meeting or chatting with other entrepreneurs representing different companies within the home based business industry.
Recently while on a conference call I had a person new to network marketing ask me what I think they should do about their sponsor. Basically they felt that their sponsor wasn’t helping them or providing good guidance or leadership since they joined.
This isn’t the first time that I have been asked this question. I actually addressed it in a similar post awhile back, “Your Sponsor Sucks, A Message For All Network Marketing Newbies.“
Since this question does come up a lot I decided this time to add a video post to address it, so take a look!
Here is the bottom line. When you put your John Hancock and signed the dotted line on your Independent Representative agreement (contract), you agreed to start your own business.
A keyword – INDEPENDENT- It wasn’t a partnership.
I want you to think about it this way, what if you started a brick and mortar business like a fast food spot based on the recommendation of a friend, co-worker or family member.
Would you expect your friend to lead you through the process?
I don’t think so.
Sure they might help you…. MIGHT! But are you going to base your success on whether they help you or not???
That would be kind of silly, right?
Well that’s exactly why it would also be silly for you to base your success in Network Marketing on someone else.
Here are my 3 Ways To Deal With A Poor Sponsor or Upline Leader
#1 Commit To Your Own Success
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again…Your sponsor does not determine whether you fail or not in the business, YOU determine that!
So go out there and prove to everyone that YOU can do it whether you have help from your sponsor or not!
If you are committed to your business and changing your financial situation then,
-Don’t quit
-Don’t complain
-Don’t get discouraged
-Drive On
Most people that are committed to success will do what ever it takes to include searching own their own for training that they feel they need.
#2 Find Other Ways To Get What You Need
Don’t forget that you can still take advantage of the team training that your sponsor probably has already provided to you.
Also don’t forget the training and marketing material your network marketing company has available.
Plug in to all of your network marketing company’s functions, calls, events, meetings, conferences and conventions.
#3 Reach Out To Others In Your Niche
Reach out to and make Friends with other Team Members (Experienced and Inexperienced).
Don’t be afraid to create a team of contacts and friends from other company teams. You can find others in your niche on Facebook and other social media sites.
Nothing will build up your skill sets faster than tapping into network marketing training from other leaders in the industry.
Remember, you are directly responsible for your own success. No one is going to hold your hand and do the work for you.
I hope this post has been helpful and inspires you to do great things with your business. Please share this post with others that you feel may benefit from this information.
