Well you probably landed on my blog looking for information on a company called Younique, right? If so, then you are in the right place and in this Younique Business Opportunity review I will attempt to provide enough information about the Company, Product(s), and Compensation plan for you to be able to make an informed decision.

Let me start off by saying this is an unbiased review and I’m not an affiliated in anyway with the company, but I have helped people in many different companies produce results online. But let’s just focus on Younique and if it is the right business opportunity for you!

Younique was founded in 2012 by brother-and-sister duo Derek Maxfield and Melanie Huscroft. Both Derek and Melanie firmly believe that all women should feel valued, smart, and empowered through opportunities of personal growth and financial reward! The company specializes in all natural cosmetics. Younique’s philosophy is centered around the core values of simplicity, spiritual enlightenment, positive influence and the celebration of inner and outer beauty.

Younique Mission: To uplift, empower, validate, and ultimately build self-esteem in women around the world through high-quality products that encourage both inner and outer beauty and spiritual enlightenment while also providing opportunities for personal growth and financial reward.

What Are the Products?

Younique carries a wide range of cosmetic and skin care products including: 3D Fiber Lashes, Foundation, Concealers, Lip Gloss and More. There most popular product is the 3D Fiber Lashes ($29 and last two months).

Younique uses mostly natural and/or organic ingredients, along with some synthetic ingredients. In fact many of their products are organic and mineral-based cosmetics without the cheap fillers, oils, parabens, and synthetic fragrances. Practically all products are vegan, including the Moodstruck brushers and concealers. While they have products that may contain animal-derived ingredients, the company appears to be transparent about labeling each of them. In addition, it offers a number of gluten-free products, which include Awake Facial Cleanser and Lucrative Lip Gloss. Also, the brand offers high-quality brushes that use animal hair obtained only in a cruelty-free manner.

According to Younique,

We are the first direct-sales company to market and sell almost exclusively through the use of social media. Our pioneered Younique Virtual Parties bridge the huge world of social media and the traditional home-party business model. A Younique Virtual Party has no limits to your reach or who you can invite. This makes it so the traditional home party is not even necessary unless you choose to do it. We provide the innovative and interactive tools and invite you to tap into your own resources and connections that you already have.

How to promote the products

As you can see, Younique encourages promotion of their products through social media and use of the internet. However, you can still do the traditional at home parties if you so desire. Most Younique presenters are engaging their warm market (friends, family members co-workers, etc) and trying to persuade them to become their customer or join the company to become a Younique presenter.

So how do I get on the Younique leader board?

Top leaders in the network marketing industry are starting to take notice of the Younique business opportunity. These top industry leaders build their businesses totally different than the masses do.

The top earners who are making money in Younique are great at marketing, both offline and online.

They know how to generate traffic and leads, and then convert those leads into sales, and they know how to recruit the best people into their business.

The teams that seem to be successful are using lead marketing tools in order to train their group on internet marketing techniques and give them the tools and knowledge to generate their own online leads. If you want to become a top producer, you will need a powerful lead marketing system to foster and build a relationship with your prospects.

Not having a lead marketing system is why most Younique Presenters will fail; because they follow the masses and get the same old results.

The Compensation Plan

Can you make money with this business opportunity? That my friend is the million dollar question. The Younique compensation plan is a little confusing but I’ll try to update this review as new information becomes available. On the surface it appears to be a stair step plan.

NOTE: A network marketing Stair Step Plan is a compensation plan in which representatives who are responsible for the both personal as well as group sales volume. It is a simple plan for the distributors who are new for network marketing business. Every step is based on a certain volume of sales target. If a distributor or networker achieve the set target he/she will promoted for the next higher level. The Stair-Step compensation plan gives huge incentives for distributors to achieve the set target.

For this industry, the Younique compensation plan closely resembles the Mary Kay pay structure and trying to determine exactly how much a new recruit will make over the Younique presenter’s lifetime is extremely difficult since commissions are performance based.

NOTE: Lots of work will need to be done by the presenter in order to maximize this compensation plan!

1) Must register as a presenter, and 2) achieve $125 Personal Retail Sales (PRS) in the current month.

Well this is a comprehensive Younique Business Opportunity review, right? Then let’s look at the good as well as the bad.

The Good

Residual income opportunity on product reorders.
Low start up cost, less than $100.
Ground floor business opportunity, company has less than 60,000 representatives.
The business is available in many countries outside the U.S.
Reps receive a replicated website
Products are receiving great reviews.
Bonuses. Fast Start Bonus-In first 90 days from joining Younique, sell $2000 in PRS, have 3 Presenters direct to you, and at least one Active – Receive the Fast Start charm and $250 in Younique cash.

The Not So Good

- Target audience is limited to women only.
- To avoid being inactivated, each Presenter must sell at least $125 Personal Retail Sales (PRS) in product in the previous 3 months (ROLLING THREE MONTHS).
- Production based comp plan that will require heavy recruiting and building large teams to sustain and maximize income.
- Company is still in the new and in the early stages of development, may not be around for the long term (many direct sales companies don’t last more than 5 years).
- Requires presenters to reach $1000 PRS (Lifetime), have one active presenter and maintain $250 PRS monthly before qualifying for your downline commissions.
- Hidden cost: replicated website requires $10 monthly subscription fee after first 3 months. [When you sign up as a Younique Presenter you receive a free three month Younique Personal Website. This free subscription expires three months from your date of enrollment, see Presenter agreement]. UPDATE: Younique’s new independent presenter agreement (dtd Dec 15, 2014) has removed the $10 fee previously mentioned in paragraphs 6.4.3 Approved Presenter Websites and 6.4.5.1. Younique Presenter Personal Websites (PWS) (now 6.4.4.2 ) of the old agreement
- In order to maintain their rank, a Younique presenter must requalify for their promotional level every month.

THE SAD TRUTH

Unfortunately, if your looking at Younique solely for the purpose of the compensation plan and you are an inexperienced marketer without the drive and ambition to make a serious change in your life, Younique probably isn’t for you. I’m assuming that we haven’t personally met yet and that I haven’t gotten to know you. So, I’m going to be pretty blunt here. If you expect to sign up and instantly start to make money without a lead marketing system, let me be the first to tell you … YOU WILL FAIL!!!

The problem is that a lot of people join Younique and then don’t want to do ANYTHING to promote their business. Even though there are built-in advertising opportunities that can do 90% of the work for you, some people amazingly don’t get involved.

Your success as a Presenter will ultimately be determined by how many people you can attract to you and your team. Without understanding Attraction Marketing principles, you will always be at a serious disadvantage. Final Thoughts

Please continue to read as many Younique reviews as you possibly can while researching this company. At the moment Younique is definitely one of the hottest network marketing companies right now however I feel it is too early to fully assess the company’s business opportunity. Expect the compensation plan to change a few times as the company leadership receives feedback from the field. You should always make sure you get to know as much about the company as you can before making a decision. But also understand that if you are new to the direct sales and network marketing industry that your success will come from your ability to generate continuous leads in order to make sales.

In my opinion Younique is just like any other direct sales and network marketing company. They are still a ground floor company. So if you are interested in beauty, cosmetics and skin care and feel comfortable with their products, then Younique is certainly a business opportunity worth looking into. It may be difficult for a newbie to make any real money with this company and even experienced networkers might work hard to build large teams and still not produce a life changing income stream.

Remember, success in network marketing is not a huge mystery. It is just a matter of correct education, proper skills and effective action.

Wake Up Now was founded in 2009 by Troy Muhlestein, a former corporate leader in traditional business.

The company was referred to as “Wordcraft Systems, Inc.” before finally officially changing its name to “Wake Up Now, Inc.”

Here’s where gets a little confusing. Wordcraft Systems became a Delaware corporation called Wake Up Now in November of 2010, which was technically a paper company.

However, in July of 2009, a Utah corporation was created, also called Wake Up Now.

Then, in December of 2010 the two WUNs merged and now Wake Up Now, Utah is a subsidiary of Wake Up Now, Delaware, which genetically now makes Wake Up Now, Utah a public company and the one I am conducting this Wake Up Now Business Opportunity Review on.

The company is Headquartered in Provo, Utah. Got it? 🙂

Wake Up Now (WUN) encourages promotion of their product by word-of-mouth.

The company promotes the concept B3H3G3 (Bring Three, Help Three, Get Three customers) system.

B3H3G3 is a strategy whereby you can earn $600 a month by recruiting 3 friends who recruit three friends and so on.

Most Wake Up Now Independent Business Owners (IBOs) engage their warm market (friends, family members co-workers, etc) and try to persuade them to become a customer or become a qualified IBO.

It appears that most Wake Up Now IBOs are primarily promoting WUN online via social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Although there are some experienced network marketers that use offline promotion techniques (advertising, meetings, three-way calls, etc) as well.

NOTE: A lot of inexperienced Wake Up Now IBOs are spamming Facebook and Instagram walls with crazy make money now claims. Read this post “The quickest way to lose your Real and Facebook friends” before advertise on Facebook.

The Wake Up now compensation plan is a unilevel plan that is a little complicated to understand.

You must be a qualified Independent Business Owner (IBO) to be eligible to receive commissions with the Wake Up Now Compensation Plan

How WUN defines a qualified IBO:

1) Must be enrolled as an IBO, and 2) Achieve 90 Personal Volume (PV).

Well this is a comprehensive Wake Up Now business Opportunity review, right? Then let’s look at the good as well as the bad.

The Good

Residual income opportunity on product reorders (autoship).
A variety of different ways you can get paid.
Attain Director 3” and earn a monthly $100, which covers your own $99.95 monthly Platinum Package fee.
The business is available in many countries outside the U.S.
Bonuses. In addition to to the above compensation, WUN has multiple bonus pools that are available on a weekly basis to its distributors. These bonus pools are based on the company’s total volume the previous month. What does this mean for you? If you can qualify for those bonus pools, you’ll be pulling in some nice extra money on a WEEKLY basis.
Flexibility to place place people in your organization.

The Not So Good

Requires that you have $100 of monthly and 90 Personal Volume (PV) in order to even be considered an “qualified” IBO.
Pays literally nothing until a participant enrolls three people, no matter what group volume is generated under the first two, and hierarchical requirements make the higher ranks exceptionally harder to achieve, including those ranks that are most likely to produce a comfortable living income.
In October of 2013, WUN added a “Customer” qualifier to each rank of the plan. Director 3s not only need to enroll three IBOs, but also must enroll three Customers. All IBOs must maintain a minimum of 3, 7, or 10 retail customers as applicable
According to the company income statement the Avg. IBO earns less than $100/mo.
Requires distributors to pay both a one time setup/activation fee (vacation club) as well as a monthly subscription fee.
Some products/services can be found cheaper through Google search.

This is one of the best plans I’ve ever seen for those who are looking ONLY for a supplemental income of a few hundred dollars per month. All other issues aside, $600 a month for a downline of a dozen people each placing a $99.95 order is extremely attractive.

As per WakeUpNow’s July 2013 Income Disclosure Statement,

80% of the company’s affiliates failed to generate a $10 or more commission payout that month. With $10 being the minimum commission payable on a single retail subscription, that means 80% of the company’s affiliates failed to make one retail subscription sale (or earn a commission of an existing one) for the month of July.

Things haven’t gotten much better since, with WakeUpNow’s December 2013 statement revealing that 82% of the company’s commission qualified affiliates failed to earn any commissions at all.

Is the Wake Up Now business opportunity right for YOU?

There are three different options when you join Wake Up Now as an IBO:

Silver Membership ($24.95 a month) – Access to WakeUpNow Finance or Taxbot Deductions, “Cyberhood Watch” by Invisus and 1 magazine subscription
Gold Membership ($49.95 a month) – all of the above plus “ID Theft protection” and “Computer Security Services” (Cyberhood Watch, iDefend and iSafe) by Invisus and an additional magazine subscription (2 in total)
Platinum Membership ($99.95 a month) – all of the above including access to both WakeUpNow Finance Taxbot Deductions and an additional magazine subscription (3 in total)
Plus a one-time activation fee of $90 for the vacation club.

Once you’re registered as a independent distributor, you can start building your business.

REALITY CHECK

Unfortunately the sad truth is, if your looking at Wake Up Now solely for the purpose of the compensation plan and you are an inexperienced marketer without the drive and ambition to make a serious change in your life, Wake Up Now probably isn’t for you.

I’m assuming that we haven’t personally met yet and that I haven’t gotten to know you.

So, I’m going to be pretty blunt here.

If you expect to sign up and instantly start to make money without a lead marketing system, let me be the first to tell you … YOU WILL FAIL!!!

The Bottom Line

In conclusion, you are doing a good thing researching Wake Up Now reviews.

Make sure you get to know as much about the company as you can before making a decision.

But also understand that if you are new to the direct sales and network marketing industry that your success will come from your ability to generate continuous leads in order to make sales.

There are some things that concern me about this company.

First, to begin qualifying for those Unilevel payouts, or to qualify for any payout, you must first achieve 90 CV in personal purchases, or sales to Preferred or Retail Customer, and sell at least 90 CV worth of product to three customers or IBOs. In other words, buy a Platinum Package and recruit three others who buy a Platinum Package.

The large majority of network marketing reps in any opportunity never recruit their first person, and rightly deserve no commission.

But a much higher percentage do recruit one or two.

In WUN, if you sponsor two stars and one or both build substantial groups, you’re paid nothing.

I am not a fan of opportunities where I have to pay monthly for the right to earn commissions payments.

Finally the products, appear to be a collection of online products that are either free, or can be purchased for the same price, to in some cases occasionally for less, directly from the original provider, and the product “discounts” and “deals” are only true for those who are to lazy to search for them on Google.

In my opinion Wake Up Now is just like any other direct sales and network marketing company.

If you are interested in a virtual company (products online) then Wake Up Now is certainly an business opportunity worth looking into.

Success in network marketing is not a huge mystery.

It is just a matter of correct education, proper skills and effective action.

According to the “Blyth, Inc., Form 10-K, Annual Report, Filing Date Mar 14, 2013 ViSalus has approximately 76,000 independent distributors.

Products

As an Independent Distributor with ViSalus you will market and promote weight management products and other nutritional supplements like essential oils, whole grape extracts and metabolism boosting tablets.

The Vi-Pak line is their best selling product.
The Vi-Pak product line was created by Dr. Michael Siedman, currently serving as the Director of Product Research and Development for ViSalus.
Their 4 core products are:1. Balance Kit, 2. Shape Kit, 3. Core Kit, 4. Transformation Kit but they have more.
Each kit comes with the Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake Mix. Some kits also include products to support metabolism, appetite suppression and energy.

TIP: Always look at the product first. If you would Not “willingly” buy the product and enjoy it’s benefits… why do you think anyone would? Marry the product with your own interests and needs. If you are interested in wellness, health & fitness, etc. then select a company who has a leadership position in these product lines. Don’t try to sell something you can’t get enthusiastic about… and which does not fill a proven need in the marketplace. Never mistake the “comp plan” for the opportunity… the opportunity is in the product. The most lucrative pay plan in the world will not pay you a dime if you cannot sell the product… and the customers do not willingly re-order.

How to promote the products

ViSalus promotes its products with the Body by Vi Challenge, a weight-loss and physical fitness goals oriented program designed to reward those with the best transformations achieved over a 90 day period.

Challenge participants can earn free products, prizes and vacations.

Last year ViSalus gave away over $47 million in FREE products, prizes and vacations to those on the challenge.

ViSalus teaches its distributors to host a Challenge Party as the best way to share the products, success stories and business opportunity from the comfort of their home.

A Challenge Party is simply a gathering of invited friends, or sometimes a community, where a variety of different flavor shakes are mixed so everyone can taste them!

NOTE: Anyone who participates in the Body by Vi Challenge can receive their product for free each month by sponsoring 3 or more people who purchase a kit of equivalent value

Independent distributors organize the event, either with a customer as a host and her guest, or simply by inviting the promoter’s own warm market contacts (friends & family) to come check it out.

Most network marketing companies like ViSalus teach their representatives to market their products to their warm market first.

The problem with this tactic is that invites rejection, your friends and family members are usually the hardest market to approach and the least responsive.

New independent distributors without any previous network marketing experience fall into this INDUSTRY TRAP over and over!

Besides what happens when you run our of friends and family to pitch your business opportunity to?

Let’s be real!

There are only so many family & friends you can market your business to and, in order to maximize the ViSalus compensation plan, you need to be holding a LOT of challenge parties and sponsoring a LOT of people every month.

The good news, the internet has made this possible. Let me clarify, I’m talking about using the internet to connect to others through some type of lead marketing tool. You “warm” those people up to you because they either like your ad, your blog post, your video… you get the idea.

FACT: 98% of network marketers are told their “warm market” is anyone they know. Just because you know someone doesn’t make them a prospect not a candidate for your business opportunity!A long term business is not built on your friends and family.

So where do the Top ViSalus earners get their leads from?

The Compensation Plan-Can I make money?

The ViSalus compensation plan is a unilevel with compression.

What is a unilevel plan with compression mean?

This means is you can only recruit people front-line to you. The more people you personally sponsor, the wider your organization grows.

You also earn a percentage through a certain number of levels of distributors within your organization. The higher the rank you achieve, the more levels from which you can earn commissions.

Example: If a company decides to pay $0.50 of every dollar earned to distributors, it will not stop at a fixed depth level. This means that if distributors, who are too deep in the plan for you to get payment on normally, are inactive (do not qualify for a commission payment), then the remaining commission will flow up levels in the plan to the next qualified person and the complete $0.50 will be paid out.

Now the ViSalus compensation plan pays 5% down to eight (8) levels deep. You have the ability to earn on more depth in your organization as you advance through the ranks.

You must be an active distributor to earn income with the ViSalus Compensation Plan

ViSalus defines an active distributor as:

Having a minimum autoship of $125 per month Personal Qualification Volume(PQV), or
Having $200 in retail sales monthly (PQV).

The Good

Upfront commissionable income on new product sales.
Residual income opportunity on product reorders (autoship).
A variety of different ways (at least eight) you can get paid.
The BMW “Bimmer Club”. ViSalus rewards you with up to $600 as a monthly bonus toward the purchase of a black, silver, or green BMW. Once you have reached the rank of Regional Director ($12,500 GQV + leg percentage requirements),
Bonuses. In addition to to the above compensation, ViSalus has multiple bonus pools that are available on a weekly basis to its distributors. These bonus pools are based on the company’s total volume the previous month. What does this mean for you? If you can qualify for those bonus pools, you’ll be pulling in some nice extra money on a WEEKLY basis.

The Not So Good

Requires that you have $125 of monthly PQV (personal qualifying volume) or $200 in retail sales in order to even be considered an “active” distributor. Therefore if you want to actually get paid in the ViSalus compensation plan, you must be able to handle paying $125 monthly until you get more customers.
BMW program. If, at any time, your rank drops below the qualification of Regional Director, you are responsible for making the car payment under the terms and conditions of the lease/purchase agreement you entered into with the finance company.
Requires annual enrollment fee of $25.

As with any network marketing business opportunity you can make money with ViSalus.

How much money will be totally up to YOU!

The challenge with ViSalus and any other direct sales or network marketing company for that matter is that simply joining ViSalus will not automatically make you money or successful.

At the end of the day, your success will depend on your ability to generate an endless flow of high quality leads.

Another words the only way you make money as a distributor for any network marketing company is to move product.

You get paid on product sales. It’s that simple.

This means to make good money you will need to constantly get new leads (customers) on the product and/or keep distributors using the product themselves on a monthly autoship.

Note: ViSalus appears to have a hard time hanging onto distributors. Is the ViSalus business opportunity for YOU?

There are three different options when you join ViSalus as a distributor:

Basic Distributor – $49, plus the cost of a product kit. The most inexpensive option would be the $49 product kit. So the minimum you can pay to become a distributor is $98.
Executive Success System (ESS) option – $499. You do not have to purchase an additional product kit since the products come with this option.
ESS plus samples – $999. So basically you get everything in the ESS, plus additional samples to hand out.

You will also need to pay an annual enrollment fee of $25. (which is still something to think about, because nowadays there are many free opportunities). Once you’re registered as a independent distributor, you can start building your business.

REALITY CHECK

Unfortunately the sad truth is, if your looking at ViSalus solely for the purpose of the compensation plan and you are an inexperienced marketer without the drive and ambition to make a serious change in your life, ViSalus probably isn’t for you.

I’m assuming that we haven’t personally met yet and that I haven’t gotten to know you. So, I’m going to be pretty blunt here.

If you expect to sign up and instantly start to make money without a lead marketing system, let me be the first to tell you … YOU WILL FAIL!!!

The problem is that a lot of people join ViSalus and then don’t want to do ANYTHING to promote their business. Even though there are built-in advertising opportunities that can do 90% of the work for you, some people amazingly don’t get involved.

Your success as a distributor will ultimately be determined by how many people you can attract to you and your team.

Without understanding Attraction Marketing principles, you will always be at a serious disadvantage. If you want the best chance at success in your Visalus business, you also need to learn Attraction Marketing principles.

If you are interested in the health and wellness industry (losing weight, getting fit, etc) then ViSalus is certainly an business opportunity worth looking into.

Whether you actually use the Empower Network Viral blogging system or not to build your business the products do have some nuggets of information that can help you build a successful online business and become a better marketer.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Empower Network is not another Multilevel Marketing company (MLM), it is an affiliate program.

There is a difference.

This affiliate program pays commissions to those that desire to market the membership to others.
