Most new home business owners will automatically begin branding* their network marketing company and its products shortly after they sign up.
They buy business cards, flyers, stationary sets, t-shirts, and a host of other things that all have the company logo and colors. They go on all their social media sites and post pictures of the company’s products all over their personal page.
But branding the company instead of branding YOURSELF is one of the biggest mistakes a new network marketer can make.
*Branding is the promotion of a particular person, product or company by means of advertising and distinctive design.
Why is this a mistake?
Well when you spend all of your time and effort promoting your network marketing business opportunity and products then all you’re doing is branding the company!
Still don’t get it?
In other words you are indirectly placing the spotlight on the company instead of on you where it should be, whether you realize it or not.

Believe it or not the current company you are with may or may not be around in the future, but your personal brand is something that can establish now that will stay with you for many years to come.

By creating your own personal brand online people will essentially be attracted to you and they will be interested in what you have to say.
By branding yourself and attracting leads to you and not your company these leads remain yours. This is one of the most powerful reasons to brand YOU and not your company.
As you get more leads you can then create a list of followers. You own the list and can use your list in any way that you choose. You are in control. You can use your list to introduce your followers to your primary network marketing company, you can share products or services with them, build relationships, or use your list in any other way that you see fit. You can create multiple streams of income whether people join your primary business or not!
By branding yourself online, you can set yourself apart and provide value to people. Earn the trust of others and build relationships. That is the real key to finding people to show your products or opportunity.
Remember, network marketing has always been and always will be about building long lasting, quality relationships.
