First, lets start with the business definition of branding. According to Entrepreneur.com,
Branding is the marketing practice of creating a name, symbol or design that identifies and differentiates a product from other products The process involved in creating a unique name and image for a product in the consumers’ mind, mainly through advertising campaigns with a consistent theme. 2) It is also the promotion of a particular product or company by means of advertising and distinctive design.
Branding aims to establish a significant and differentiated presence in the market that attracts and retains loyal customers.

What Is Personal Branding
According to Wikipedia,
Personal branding is the practice of people marketing themselves and their careers as brands. While previous self-help management techniques were about self-improvement, the personal–branding concept suggests instead that success comes from self-packaging.
Simply put, your personal brand is your promise to your customer. It tells them what they can expect from you, your products and services, and it differentiates your offering from that of your competitors.
Your personal brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be.
One of the most important things you can do when you start your own home based business is to learn how to begin branding yourself.
It is what others will feel and remember about YOU.
It is how you are recognized by the people in your community/market palce.
It is YOUR unique promise of value.
It is what is TRUE, GENUINE and REAL about YOU!
So how do you apply personal branding to the home based business or network marketing industry?
By creating a name that identifies and differentiates you, the network marketer, from other network marketers.
Bottom line: You need to do something different in order to stand out from all the others in your company that are promoting the same products and services your company offers.
