There’s a super-simple way to position yourself to be the top earner in your company. And it can be summed up in whats called…


I hate prospecting.  Everyone does.

There’s not a network marketer on the planet who bounces out of bed in the morning and says…

“Goody, goody, goody!  I get to go strike up conversations with strangers and try to get them interested in my business!”

Or…

“Oh, hallelujah!  I can’t wait to get to the phone and start calling people I don’t know!”

That’s not happening.

And yet, that’s the standard-issue training that you get from most network marketing companies today.

They’ll tell you that the way to build your business is to:

  • Make a list of all the people you know or have ever known
  • The Memory-Jogger Method:  “Who do I know who’s an Accountant?   Who do I know who’s a Baker?  Who do I know who’s a Construction Worker?
  • The “Three Foot Rule”:  strike up a conversation with anyone who comes within 3 feet of you!
  • The F.O.R.M method.  Stands for Family, Occupation, Recreation and Message I don’t even want to tell you about this one.  I’ll have nightmares tonight if I do….
You get the point!

This stuff is Jurassic Park Marketing.  

It’s all leftover from decades ago when there was no internet….

 …where people didn’t have computers in their houses….

 ….where there was no such thing as a smartphone….

 ….where “debit cards” weren’t invented yet and most people wrote checks for things they wanted to buy.

Hope you get that. I mean REALLY get that.

Right now, the likelihood that you’re reading this on your mobile phone or iPad is pretty good.

You might even be riding down the road at 60 mph.

And, no matter what kind of device you’re on, you could literally BUY A CAR from where you are right now if you wanted to.

prospecting using old rotary phone And yet — despite all this amazing technology — the way most network marketers are taught to build their business is as old-fashioned as rotary-telephones and gas stations that close at 6pm.

This was the realization that made me wealthy in network marketing…

I spent years, spinning my wheels, in my network marketing business for TWO reasons.

And, if you’re not earning a six-figure income in your business, they’re probably the same two reasons that’s got you stuck.

Here they are:

  • I didn’t like what I was doing.  I had to force myself to do it and pretended I enjoyed it.
  • The methods I was using didn’t work very well.   They were out-dated, antiquated and didn’t match how people today wanted to live, work, buy things and earn money.

I could give you stories of all the stuff I hated.

Contacting people I haven’t talked to in years to see if they’d be interested in making money from home…. striking up conversations with strangers… calling 100 “leads” per day and leaving 96 voicemails …

It was stupid.  And that stuff is even more stupid today.

The truth is that prospecting and doing in-person presentations is a waste of time for most people.  

I’m not saying it doesn’t “work”.  Heck, anything will produce a result if you do it enough times.

But my big breakthrough came from asking some hard questions.

Ask Yourself These Questions…

  • How much of your spending each month is done with a stranger you met at Starbucks while waiting to get your mocha?  None.
  • How many of your monthly payments required you to go to some “home party” or “private business reception” to sit through a 2-hour meeting before making a decision?  None.
  • How many of your decisions each month that involves having to spend time with a salesman in a 1-on-1 presentation?  Unless you’re buying a car or a house, probably ZERO.
And finally, the BIG question:

If YOU don’t make decisions and spend your money that way, why are you asking your prospects to do it?

Do you want more people to buy from you?

Well today in this post I am going to share a simple method to get more people to buy from you!

Let’s be honest, if you have a home or small business and you are selling a product that nobody’s buying then you wouldn’t be in business very long.

I don’t want that to happen to you!

What I am about to tell you  works online and offline regardless of the business model that you are currently working in – direct sales, network marketing, real estate, insurance or some other brick and mortar business.

So how do you get people to buy from you?

It’s called the Know, Like and Trust (KLT) method.

Get People To Know You

If you want to get people to buy from you they must get to know you.

You see your future customers or business partners need to know where they can find you online or offline.

  • Do you have a blog or website?
  • Do you have a profile on the popular social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or Linkedin?
  • What are some other ways their communication preferences?

Knowing actually goes both ways….not only do people need to get to know you, but you also need to get to know the people.

So if you want to get people to buy from you then you must also take the time to get to know them!

  • Who is your target audience?
  • What are their specific concerns or problems (pain points)?
  • What are some things you have in common? (books, movies, hobbies etc)

Get People To Like You

How do you get people to like you?

Well imagine this. Let’s say you were approached by two salespeople  with the exact same product and the same price.

know, like and trust likeability klt methodOne person comes across as boring and impersonal. The other is very charming, interesting, and makes you feel good.

Which one would you rather do business with?

The latter, right?

I know that I wouldn’t want to buy anything from a person that  I felt I didn’t have a connection to  on some kind of level.

So in order to get a person to like you must be able to make a good enough impression that they feel comfortable talking to you or being around you.

Once you establish a connection then overtime you will need to work on building a solid relationship with that people.

  • Be nice and courteous
  • Be visible, open and transparent
  • Be real and authentic
  • Be generous and give without expecting anything in return

It wasn’t until I adopted a “servant attitude” that things began to turn around for me and my business.

I learned to provide my followers and potential prospects plenty of value.

All you have to do is identify an area you see them struggling in and give them some helpful advice on how to overcome that particular struggle or issue.

Get People To Trust You

The more someone trusts you, the more they will open up and discuss their problems and their needs with you.  Once you get to this point then you can realistically make a product or service recommendation for something you’re selling, if in fact, it is a good fit.

When you’re honest enough to turn down a potential sale, you’re actually indirectly building a strong relationship that just might result in a lifelong customer.

How do you get people to trust you?

There are many, many, many ways that you can get people to trust you.

  • Be honest with them at all times
  • Be respectful – treat people the way you would want to be treated, remember the golden rule!
  • Be a good listener – what does your prospect want or need. You won’t know if you do all the talking
  • Be accessible – when people know that they can get access to you they will be more comfortable with you
  • Be empathetic – people will trust you more when they feel you understand them.
  • Connect with people you have things in common with i.e. children, married, pet lovers, etc. It’s much easier to get people to trust with you when they can relate to you because you have something in common
  • Deliver on your promises – do what you say you are going to do
  • Add value – value is what people are willing to pay for. Keep doing great work that adds value and others will reward you with trust.

Always remember people do business with people they know, like and trust (KLT).

If you have not heard by now it’s true, the Securities and Exchange Commission filed a lawsuit Tuesday, June 26th 2016 against the company known as  Traffic Monsoon.

U.S. District Judge Jill Parrish granted the restraining order Tuesday evening, freezing the assets of Charles Scoville and Traffic Monsoon, which is sitting on about $60 million in cash in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Traffic Monsoon was started by Charles Scoville in October 2014.

What is Traffic Monsoon?

According to the company website,

quoteTrafficMonsoon.com is a specialized advertising and revenue sharing company that allows international participation of individuals and groups. Our services provide high quality advertising targeted for people seeking for a way to earn money online along with complete account privacy, top level online security, efficient account management, and a dedicated support team

So basically Traffic Monsoon passes itself off as an online advertising services company.

Traffic Monsoon users purchase “Banner AdPacks” for $50 each and can earn $5 per AdPack in two months — or a return of about 10 percent — if they click on 50 other website ads in any 24-hour period. But clicking on the ads is highly automated and takes about 4 minutes a day, according to the lawsuit.

Feds say Traffic Monsoon is a $207 million Ponzi scheme

It is estimated to have scammed around 160,000 investors out of $207 million dollars. 90% of Traffic Monsoon’s investors, roughly 145,000, are based outside of the US.

The program appears to be most popular in countries that are also some of the poorest in the world.

Nearly 99 percent of Traffic Monsoon’s revenue comes almost exclusively from the sale of AdPacks purchased by new investors.

Traffic Monsoon has virtually no revenue from any other source.

Because all investor returns are funded through new investor contributions, the company operates as a classic Ponzi scheme.

PayPal froze Traffic Monsoon account – $61 million dollars of invested funds

quoteUp until early 2016, Traffic Monsoon had been using PayPal Holdings, Inc. (“PayPal”) to take in and pay out all funds. At that time, however, PayPal noted the very rapid growth of the program, as well as other suspicious factors indicative of a Ponzi scheme, and froze the company’s funds – approximately $61 million.

Paypal seizure was a significant setback for Traffic Monsoon, with the SEC revealing that ‘almost all member funds were kept in PayPal‘.

Despite their current state of affairs, Scoville claimed he’s going to ‘stand up against (the SEC’s) claims in a court of law.”


Despite what has happened there are at least three fundamental lessons we can learn from Traffic Monsoon’s demise:

1) Always research the company, especially the leadership. Read a lot of reviews and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t just jump all in because of the initial hype!

2) Examine the company product/services, what makes it unique?

3) Make sure the company compensation or pay plan is sound. Be suspicious if they pay commissions primarily on the recruitment of new affiliates.

NOTE: Traffic Monsoon’s revenue generation relied primarily on the sale of AdPacks by investors and all investor returns were funded through new investor contributions, the company operates as a classic Ponzi scheme.

Traffic Monsoon is a great example of why it is important to brand YOURSELF and not the company you are affiliated with!

FINAL THOUGHTS

Revenue sharing and network marketing companies come and go all the time, just like many brick and mortar small businesses do but what I find especially disturbing with this development is the amount of people that were involved overseas and will be adversely affected by Traffic Monsoon being their first make money online or from home experience.

If you were promoting Traffic Monsoon please keep your head up and do not let this minor stumbling block quench your entrepreneurial spirit and keep you from pursing your dreams of financial freedom.

How to turn a prospects ‘NO’ into a ‘YES’

Here is the TRUTH

About 90% of the people you talk to about your business, will Never join your business or buy your products or services.

They will say “no” and will probably make a hundred of excuses in the process.

If you have been in the industry longer than 30 days then you already know that’s a fact.

Are you tired of hearing ‘NO’ ?

no no no signWhen you hear “NO’ all the time it can really get discouraging. In fact it’s one of the reasons why so many newbies give up or quit their business within the first 90 days after joining their network marketing company.

If your prospects are constantly telling you they’re not interested, then it’s probably because they don’t see your value.

Your value is the reason why a customer buys from you or the reason why they will join your business. And if you can’t clearly provide any value, then one thing is certain…you can expect your prospect to continue telling you ‘NO’.

How to create and add value for your prospects

Start by answering these important questions about your product:

  • Does your product solve a major pain point or address a specific “hot button” issue (e.g. back pain, credit card debt, difficulty recruiting, sponsoring, making sales, generating leads, etc.?
  • What is the end result of using your solution to solve the hot button issue? (benefit)
  • How has your product solved the same hot button issue for your prospect’s competitors?

Once you have your answers, then your job shifts to becoming a problem solver. Sometimes your product is not the best solution for a particular customer. A good marketer doesn’t approach a sale with the preconceived notion that this customer must want what you’re selling.

Offer some free tips or advice that addresses their issue. If your product or service can resolve your prospects need or pain then find a way to work them into your conversations with prospects.

Be direct and make sure you clearly state the benefits of your product/service. By mentioning these benefits early and often in the sales conversation, you gain the prospect’s interest.

Do it right, and you’ll be rewarded with your prospect’s undivided attention.

Do it wrong, and you’ll continue to hear ‘NO’ and lose out on potentially huge sales.

But what if you could start turning a NO into a… YES ?

Would that interest you?

Lets face it, most of your prospects will say ‘NO’ to your primary business opportunity..

…but you need to have a way to make money from your prospects even if they don’t buy your products or join your primary business opportunity.

Why?

The additional money or income stream can be used to fund other business expenses like advertising.

Besides having multiple streams of income never hurt anybody, right?

What if you knew of a simple strategy to make money from up to 90% of people who say ‘NO’ to your primary business opportunity?

How to turn a prospects ‘NO’ into a Yes + a commission

Top earners have been doing this secretly for years. So don’t be fooled into thinking that the top earner in your primary business only has ONE source of income.

Now once your prospect sees that you care about solving their problems and not just trying to make a quick buck. They will begin to know, like and trust you which will open the doors to relationship.
