It doesn’t matter whether you are building your home business online or offline if you are not building relationships with your prospects your business will eventually suffer in the end.

Remember the old axiom,

It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”

Well this is true but just a little misleading, because it only focuses on making contacts.

But if you want to be successful with your home or small business then you need to focus on more than just having a list of people in your phone or a contacts file on your computer.

In this post I will address why you should be focused on building relationships, especially if you are involved with direct sales or the network marketing industry.

Building Relationships

Do you want to grow your business into a 4, 5, 6 or even 7-figures a month empire?

Then you need to focus on building and maintaining relationships with your prospects and your current customers.

If you get this right you will always have enough prospects looking at what you have to offer and eventually these same prospects will convert into paying customers.

Building relationships with your prospects

In the short term your goal should be focused on building relationships in order to give your prospects time to get to know, like and trust you.

Let me ask you a question….have you ever went out on a date?

What do you think the chances are for a woman to say “YES” to a guy that ask her to marry him on their very first date?

SLIM to NONE, right?

As a matter of fact there’s a good chance she would be spooked and avoid ever going out with that guy again!

My point is building a strong relationship is not something that happens over night.

It takes time to build relationships with your prospects, the same way it takes time to fall in love and eventually marry someone you care about.

It’s a process.

And it starts with understanding exactly who is your idea prospect and identifying what problems or issues or needs they have.

You must take time to really get to know your prospect just like you would for someone you would date. Find out what they like or dislike…what are their favorite books, tv shows, movies, cars, restaurants, etc etc.

Once you know a prospect then work on getting them to like you by adding value to their lives.

You can add value by taking time to understand their problems, concerns, issues or needs and educating them or providing other things that will benefit them. Soon they will begin to appreciate you and actually look forward to hearing from you or seeing you.

You can get a prospect to trust you by helping them solve their problem(s). When you know your prospects problem(s) simply recommend your product or service as a solution, if applicable.

Here’s the bottom line. People need to know, like and trust your before they will buy from you or even want to partner with you (join your team).

…but once your prospects knows, likes and trust you then chances are they will BUY from you or JOIN your business opportunity if you are into network marketing.

So whats the #1 reason to build relationships? -> To turn your prospects into customers or business partners.

Maintaining relationships with your customers

After converting a prospect into a customer or business partner, maintaining that relationship is the area that business owners and marketers often neglect.

This is a big mistake!

Most of your business will come from repeat customers… not new customers.

TIP: It is easier to keep and sell to a current customer than it is to find a new prospect!

Maintaining relationships with your customers is essential to the long term success of your business.

Have you ever heard the expression,

Happy wife ~ Happy Life!”

It really means, “Keep her happy or else suffer the consequences…lol!”

Remember my dating example above?

Well let’s take the scenario one step further. Now married, how does the guy (husband) stay happily married to his new wife?

He must continue to give her the attention to to keep her happy… otherwise he may risk losing her later on.

The same applies for us business owners with a customer base. We must keep our current customer base happy because if we neglect them they will lose interest in us and maybe even find someone else to buy from.

I keep my customers happy by emailing them helpful prospecting tips or sharing the latest and greatest marketing strategies.

By continuing to engage with my loyal customers I retain them as customers and they continue to buy from me.

So whats the #1 reason to maintain relationships? -> To keep your customers or business partners.

Burning Bridges

Unfortunately, I see way too many network marketers burning bridges with their prospects instead of building relationships.

Burning bridges occurs when you place making the sale or earning a commission a priority over building a relationship with your prospect.

The first goal when meeting someone new should not be to pitch your service or your product to them.

But people do this ALL the time, especially network marketers.

Don’t believe me? Just look at how people pitch their business opportunity or products on Facebook or other on social media sites.

I can’t tell you the countless number of times I have accepted friend requests on Facebook from people I don’t know and 5 seconds after I accept their request I get a copy and paste message from them pitching me their business opportunity or product.

These marketers are actually burning bridges with potential business partners, team members, and customers!

And you could be burning bridges based on how you respond to their sales pitch!

For example I use to politely tell them my plate is full or I am happy with what I am currently doing…guess what…I would never hear from them again!

Not only did they burn a bridge by pitching me but I burned a bridge too because I could have reached out to them or responded in a different way.

So how do you handle the sales pitch so that your are not burning bridges but instead building relationships?

Try getting to know that other marketer by asking them questions. Start by trying to find some common ground…what other things do you both have in common?

TIP: Check out their Facebook profile and see what interests you may already have in common then talk about them!

After you know more about them then you can slowly transition to questions regarding their business opportunity….ask them how long they have been with their company, how do they like their products or why did they get involved in network marketing.

Once you identify their problem (in this case…bad marketing strategy), offer some value (some helpful marketing tips or strategies that would reduce rejection) and recommend a solution (product or service you sell, if applicable)

It may not always work for everyone but keeping a line of communication open to build a relationship is much better than burning bridges don’t you think?

Let me start by saying I have never personally met Vick Strizheus so everything I write about him comes from open sources on the internet.

How to promote the products

The Four Percent Group members are taught a variety of internet marketing strategies by the Vick Strizheus. So most members promote their products through social media and use of the internet.

What is The Compensation Plan?

This pay plan is a combination of Affiliate Marketing and Network Marketing.

The Four Percent Group affiliate members get paid 50% commissions each month for every referral that signs up for the $49 a month subscription.

Tecademics affiliates have a separate tier based affiliate program that pays a maximum of 40% commissions on all products and then you have the Matching Millions bonus program. Every 5^th sale is shared 50/50 with the affiliate’s upline. When sharing commissions, affiliates get 20% commissions.

The Tecademics Internet Marketing College Compensation plan is called Matching Millions and consist of four core programs – TEC, IMPACT, MASTERS & ECOM INCUBATOR.

NOTE: This compensation plan is sort of hybrid affiliate marketing and multi-level marketing system where uplines derive initial income from a downline’s sales and then share in the commission of every 5^th sale of their downline afterward.

To be eligible to earn and receive commissions, an affiliate has to be activated and certified (qualified).

The first sale is the activation sale which makes you eligible to receive 20% commissions and then your next 2 sales are your certification sales after which you are qualified and eligible for the full 40% commissions.

Can I Make Money With This Opportunity?

YES and NO!

I say Yes if you can effectively recruit others into the company and persuade them to initially join the Four Percent Group for $49 a month and then also become an affiliate of Tecademics to sell their training products ranging from $100-$25,000.

Are you an entrepreneur with an employee mindset?

Well if you are and you try to operate your business while thinking like an employee then you my friend are setting yourself up for failure.

So in today’s post I want to tell you how to get rid of your employee mindset in order to start getting the results that you desire with your business.

…whether that’s making a few thousands of dollars a month or six-figures and beyond.

It’s really not your fault that you think like an employee. In a way we have all been brainwashed.

You see we have been conditioned since birth to believe that the only way to be successful in life is to get a college education, then get a high paying job, in order to make enough money to live a comfortable life until we can eventually retire.

We are taught in school to be employees and to follow “the system” so from the very start of our lives we develop an employee mindset.

We are not taught in school to be free thinkers or entrepreneurs and even discouraged to have an entrepreneur mindset.

What separates the masses from the top 3% of all the wealthy people in the world?

I believe its our MINDSET.

Now there’s a big difference between the mindset of an employee who makes, say, $50,000 a year, and an entrepreneur who makes that same amount every month.

There’s a difference between someone who’s happy to clock in and work their 9-to-5, and someone who makes six-figures a year working just 4 hours a day.

And there’s a gigantic difference between someone who takes control of their life and someone who leaves it up to their boss to decide.

Suppose that’s true, that your mindset has been holding you back from success, from making money, from living your dreams… how then do you go about replacing an employee mindset with a new way of thinking?

Exactly how do you get rid of an employee mindset and turn on your entrepreneur brain?

Well I have two suggestions for you today.

The first one is this:

If you truly want to become a successful entrepreneur, you must recognize that the “buck stops with you”.

You are responsible for your failure and success. For your good months and your bad. For your record breaking commission checks and for the times you’re broke.

It’s not your boss, your family or your friends that is responsible for your success. Everything is up to YOU.

Without a boss, there is no one to force you to work. To get up early in the morning, or to put in night-time hours.

There are no consequences if you don’t achieve your goal. I mean, you won’t fire yourself, right?

Sounds scary, but there’s also a magnificent upside to this new way of thinking.

Your business will flourish in line with your efforts. When you work hard – and smart – you’ll make way more money than any full-time job, and you’ll have the freedom to go along with.

So, that’s my first piece of advice.

The second is this:

Invest more of your money and your time into your own personal development.

Surround yourself with entrepreneur materials and stop reading the same thing that employees read.

Instead, read what entrepreneurs and successful people read. Read business books. Books on self-growth.

Skip all the Facebook posts, trashy magazines, romance novels, and other things that will keep you poor or broke.

Of course, there’s a place for entertainment, but the more time you can put into reading the right things, the quicker your mind will morph into that of an entrepreneur.

And as hard as it might be to believe, you’ll stop enjoying spending time on things that don’t bring you closer to your goals.

Exercise your brain muscle and you will see that shifting from an employee mindset to an entrepreneurial mindset is much easier than you think 🙂

The Compensation Plan

The Exitus Elite compensation plan is actually a network marketing one up compensation plan.

NOTE: A network marketing One Up Compensation Plan is a compensation plan in which an affiliate member must pass up the first person they refer to their sponsor. The person passed up is their qualifying referral. Example: Members A, B, and C sign up. A signs up under the admin. B signs up under A and is passed up to the admin. B becomes A’s qualifying referral. C signs up under A and becomes A’s first leg in their downline. The first person that C signs up will then be passed up to A. It is a popular plan among affiliate marketing companies selling digital products.

You must make one Qualification Sale to be eligible to earn and receive commissions with the Exitus Elite Compensation Plan.

Every additional direct sale that you make from that point forward starts an additional payline for you.

Here is why….the main concern I have is the way members get paid.

Currently, payments are made member to member with your own merchant account i.e. PayPal, Western Union, etc.

Most people use PayPal to accept their payments and PayPal really hates these kinds of transactions.

I wonder how long it will be before they step in and stop it or even worse the FTC and eventually the SEC get involved.

For example, last year Traffic Monsoon was shut down by the SEC for something very similar.

They were using PayPal to take in and payout all funds.

Exitus Elite is not exactly using PayPal that way but their pay out plan closely resembles cash gifting program which is ILLEGAL.

Cash gifting is when you give cash “gifts” (or make payments directly to someone else) and money is made based on recruitment of others and there is no exchange of a product or service.

Can you as a participant in a cash gifting program be held legally responsible?

Yes you can.

One example occurred in 2002 and 2003 in Sacramento.

The program was a gifting club called Women Helping Women.

All the members signed documents acknowledging the gifting rules and that they would not sue anyone involved.

Not only were the program managers arrested but a total of 20 women who were top earners were as well. Each pled guilty to avoid prison and were sentenced to significant public service and fines up to $150,000.

If you get involved with a cash gifting program you will either lose your money or make money and be in jeopardy of being legally responsible for those that did loose money.

By the way I could not find any info suggesting that Exitus Elite was a member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) or an Accredited Business.

Also there are several companies offering Top Tier programs but most offer lower cost front end products and sell the high end “big ticket” products on the back end.

As long as the company has a front end offer at $1000 it is only a matter of time before it loses momentum and top affiliates move on to the next big pay day program.
